As we have expanded our understanding of the work undertaken by these rescue groups, we have had the privilege of meeting some of their inspiring founders. Through our discussions, we have become increasingly aware of the never-ending tasks and challenges they face in receiving and caring for animals that are lost, abandoned, ill, or injured—all of whom require loving compassion and practical intervention.
The extraordinary dedication of the rescue groups—there are over 100 in Victoria alone—should be celebrated. To that end, we have published three articles from groups with whom we are familiar, capturing the essence of the significant work they do. More such insightful articles will be a regular feature on our website.
As trustees of the Foundation, we will share our knowledge of the rescue groups, explore opportunities to support them, and foster the admiration they deserve within our community. We strongly encourage you to learn more about the work undertaken by these groups—it makes for enlightened reading.
Observing our efforts is a very special cat known as the Empress Arthur. She traveled from Shanghai, where she lived with Wendy and Bernie for nine years, tolerated compulsory quarantine in Singapore for four weeks on her way to Australia, and re-established her esteemed place in the Boland/Landy household upon arriving in Melbourne. It is most fitting that she joined us in the photographs that you can see on our Teams Page.
